Hi! My name is James Sondgroth, and I am in love with capturing people and places from new perspectives. My journey in photography began when I started rock climbing. Although that may seem irrelevant, climbing is what inspired so much of my love for the outdoors and photography through the trips I went on and the people I met. As my passion for outdoor recreation, travel, and people grew, so did my interest in capturing those moments. Several years later, with a more professional skillset and broader abilities, beyond aimlessly taking photos with my phone, I continue to tell stories of my time outdoors with photography.
I'm based in Olympia, Washington, though I currently study Materials Engineering at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
